DP4 - DVD Review
The Dezert People series is now up to number four. The latest film from producer Curtis Guise of JD Films and Klaus Rasch from Race-Dezert.com is DP4. In 2005, JD Films' DP3 won the Extremey Award for Best Off-road Video. After watching DP4, I can see why.
This amazing film incorporates desert racing, short course racing, and even some off-road racing from Australia. DP4 combines footage from the 2004 – 2006 race season, including SCORE, BITD, CODE, and CORR.
The guys at JD Films have a few flix under their belts, so they know what it takes to deliver a cutting edge production. DP4 is filmed in High Definition (HD), so for those of you with an HDTV, this movie rocks! For those of you that haven’t ponnied up the money for and HDTV yet, no worries, the quality of the picture will still be good on your boob-tube.
Some of the featured drivers in DP4 are Robby Gordon, Alan Pflueger, Andy McMillin, the late Jason Baldwin, Cameron Steele, Scott Steinberger, John Cooley, and the boys at SMD—to name a few.
With so many off-road videos coming out lately, it’s hard to separate yourself from the rest. JD Films meets the challenge by giving us more than a run of the mill DVD. Smart transitioning between hand-held video, helicopter, and in-car camera keeps the film moving along at a progressive speed. DP4 has a rockin’ soundtrack that adds a second dimension to the action on the screen.
